On June 30th House Bill 153 was signed into law enacting the ODJFS Fiscal Year 2011-2012 budget. In an effort to cut spending and curb Medicaid abuse, payment rates, for the base hour only, were cut. Agencies received a 5% rate cut for nursing services and a 6.2% rate cut for aide services. It was also ruled that independent providers will receive 20% less than the price paid to home care agencies because independent providers do not have as many business related expenses as an agency. The new pay rates are as follows:
